House Rules
At Madeira Remote, we believe that coliving is about respect, balance, and community. These house rules help us create a space that’s welcoming, productive, and fun for everyone. Thank you so much for being part of it!
Minimum Stay and Booking
Our minimum stay is 2 weeks, with check-ins and check-outs happening on Saturdays only.
This helps to promote a healthy group dynamic and avoids midweek disruptions.
Your booking includes a private room, shared bathroom, coworking access, weekly cleaning, and weekly community experiences.
Arrival and Departure
Check-in: Saturday after 5:00 PM
Check-out: Saturday by 10:00 AM
Early arrivals or late checkouts may not be available due to turnover schedules but let us know. We’re happy to recommend luggage storage and things to do around Funchal for the day.
Respect and Community Living
Please treat the house, fellow colivers, and our host with respect.
Be inclusive, considerate, and open — this is a community space built on trust.
If conflicts arise, talk to the host or team — we are always here to help.
Quiet Hours and Work-Friendly Vibes
Quiet hours are 10 PM – 8 AM during the week to support rest and remote work focus. No loud music/noise after midnight (weekends)
Please use headphones for calls, music, or videos in shared areas unless authorized otherwise.
You’re welcome to work in your room, in the common areas or in the coworking space nearby.
Guests and Visitors
For safety and respect of other colivers, no overnight guests are allowed.
Visitors during the day must be approved in advance by the host. Please be considerate of your colivers when inviting guests to the house.
Cleanliness and Shared Space
Weekly cleaning is provided, but please tidy up after yourself daily.
Fresh towels and linens are provided at check-in. If you’d like to swap them out during your stay, feel free to use the washer and dryer available in the house.
No shoes indoors; rack by entrance.
Leave shared areas (kitchen, bathroom, living room) clean and ready for the next person. Vacuums and brooms are available if needed. When the trash is full, please take it out.
Dishes should be cleaned after use — no exceptions 🙂
Room Access & Privacy
For everyone’s privacy, please do not enter other guests’ rooms. Cleaners will enter your room on Saturdays—please be out if you’d like it cleaned.
Meals and Kitchen Use
The kitchen is fully equipped for shared use.
Label your food and be mindful of fridge space.
You are invited to join weekly community lunches and dinners (optional, extra cost).
Events and Social Life
You will be invited to community activities: hikes, lunches, workshops, beach days, and more!
Participation is optional — feel free to join in when it fits your energy and schedule.
Please note that participation in any activities or excursions, as well as the stay at Madeira Remote, is entirely at your own risk. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any unexpected changes in your plans. Madeira Remote is not responsible for missed flights, illnesses, or other personal emergencies.
