  • While the exact lineup may vary depending on the season and group, here’s a sample schedule to give you a feel for what your week might look like! You’ll always be invited to join Madeira Friends events and activities—and you’re free to participate as much or as little as you'd like. With so many opportunities to connect or unwind, we fully support the occasional rest day too. 😌

Saturday – Start the weekend strong with a morning workout, a refreshing ocean swim, and a cozy group brunch.
Sunday – Island exploration day: think hidden waterfalls, secret beaches, or scenic hikes. Eli will guide you to her favorite spots around Madeira.
Monday – Kick off the week with a skill-sharing session at the Madeira Friends Hub.
Tuesday – Join the community for a casual lunch in the heart of Funchal.
Wednesday – Give back by volunteering at the local animal shelter (dog walking included!).
Thursday – Unwind with a friendly social meetup at one of Funchal’s favorite local bars.
Friday – Start your day with a relaxing yoga session in the park, then join the group for coffee or brunch. As the sun begins to set, hop on the free shuttle to Ponta do Sol for Purple Friday—Madeira’s top weekly DJ event in the island’s most vibrant seaside village.

  • No need! Most activities happen in Funchal, and we organize group transport for weekend excursions. So no need to worry about a rental car to join the community activities!

If you’d like to explore the island independently, we recommend renting a car—we're happy to share suggestions. Public transport works well in Funchal but is limited beyond the city. Keep in mind, Madeira’s roads are steep and narrow, so driving confidence is key.
