PR 6.2 - Levada do Alecrim
About This Trail
This 3.5 km easy levada walk in the Rabaçal area offers stunning valley views and represents a hidden gem compared to its more famous neighboring trails. The flat, well-maintained path concludes at a charming waterfall destination—the Dona Beja Waterfall in a picturesque gorge—making it ideal for families and children who need no steep climbs or intimidating sections. Despite being in the same region as Madeira's most popular levada walks, Levada do Alecrim somehow receives far less attention from tourists, allowing for a more peaceful nature experience. The trail offers wide views over the Rabaçal valley and Ribeira da Janela while maintaining the leisurely pace families appreciate.
